Signature FAQs

We've compiled a list of the most commonly asked questions to help answer any additional questions you may have about joining our Signature Leadership program.

How can I apply for the next program?


Applications for the 2018-2019 program year are now closed. Thank you for your interest! Our application window for the next program year will open in March 2019. If you would like to be notified when the application window opens please contact Executive Director Olivia Critchlow via email or phone (574.314.9090). 

What time commitments are involved beyond the actual program days?


All Leadership program participants are encouraged to take advantage of their exposure to community contacts to maximize their awareness and participation in community events. Participation in assigned task groups is an essential step in this process. Participants can expect to invest a few hours per month beyond their normal program days to become an effective leader and contributor.

Are the program days mandatory?


Program participants are strongly encouraged to attend all program sessions. Participants who miss more than two program days will not graduate from the Leadership program. The Signature Program retreat is mandatory.

Are meals and transportation provided?


Transportation varies, but in most cases is provided. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to/from the initial gathering location. Once assembled, the participants are bussed or car pool, if necessary, to destinations. Lunches are provided by Leadership at the program sites.

How long is a typical program day?


Signature programs commence around 8:30 a.m. and conclude around 4:30 p.m.

Is tuition assistance available?


Tuition assistance is available based on need for small nonprofit organizations and small businesses. The assistance application is part of the online Signature Program application. Be prepared to state the amount of tuition assistance requested and the reason assistance is needed. Please note, Leadership South Bend|Mishawaka does not award full tuition assistance at this time.

Tuition assistance requests are consisdered only after the class selection process is complete and will in no way impact consideration of any applicant into the Signature Program. 

What is the tuition amount for 2018-2019?


Tuition payment for the Signature Leadership program is $2,500 and is due by August 17, 2018.
