YOUTH LEADERSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS
Eligible candidates must be high school sophomores or juniors when they begin the Youth Leadership Program. They must have the potential to demonstrate leadership in school and/or community activities as well as an interest in furthering their knowledge of St. Joseph County. Academic stability, good school attendance, and a commitment to full participation in the Youth Leadership Program are also required. Approximately 45 individuals will be selected representing a wide spectrum of experience, school participation, and diversity. In order for a candidate to apply, he/she must first be nominated.
Nominations are made by the high school staff or youth organization directors.
Nominated students will receive a letter with application information. Applications may be completed online via or Google Form Link below or via snail mail (PDF available below). If mailed, applications must be postmarked by August 15th. Application deadline is Monday August 15th.
Applications are due August 15th. A selection committee will choose a class of approximately 45 students representing 10 area high schools. Space is limited and not all applicants will be accepted.
All applicants will be notified in writing of the selection committee's decision. Orientation will be Sunday, September 27th.
